US Drone Racing Betting Sites: What You Can Actually Bet On

No US sportsbook runs a permanent drone racing market right now, because the sport’s biggest betting property has gone quiet. The Drone Racing League, the league DraftKings priced from January 2021, has not announced a season since its Miami Invitational on February 1, 2025. If a DRL event returns, DraftKings is the book with history. Until then, the closest you can get is occasional specials, prediction markets on the tech behind the sport, and a regular sportsbook in your state.

This page sets out what was offered, what is live, and how to bet on machine sports today without falling for “drone odds” pages that never had odds to begin with.

Drone betting sites in the US: the short answer

• DraftKings Sportsbook was the official DRL betting partner and the only US book with a formal drone racing deal. Markets ran in approved states during DRL events.
• Other licensed sportsbooks have not announced drone racing deals. Some books price niche events as specials, so check your app before a major race.
• Prediction markets such as Kalshi and Polymarket list AI and technology contracts, but we have not found a contract on a drone race.

How DraftKings put drone racing on the betting board

On January 8, 2021, the DRL and DraftKings announced an official sports betting agreement. DraftKings got exclusive sports betting marketing rights through the end of the 2020 DRL Allianz World Championship Season, including branded gates on the course.

The first bets went on the season’s final races, which started on Saturday, January 9, 2021, and aired on NBC, Twitter and Facebook. Fans in Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee and West Virginia could bet before a race and during it, with approvals pending in other states.

The races themselves were virtual that season, flown in a simulator built on real drone physics, as the Associated Press reported. DraftKings had already tested demand with free-to-play drone contests that drew more than 150,000 entries. DRL leaned on Wasserman research that said its fans were three times more likely to place a sports bet than the average sports fan.

What happened to Drone Racing League betting

The DRL kept racing after the DraftKings deal. The 2022-23 DRL Algorand World Championship Season opened in November 2022 at PayPal Park in Silicon Valley and ran 14 levels across arenas, DRL SIM maps and a metaverse course. By the end of 2024 the reigning world champion was South Korea-based MCK FPV, crowned in his rookie season. Halowalker was second and Amari third in the most recent standings.

In April 2024, Infinite Reality acquired the league. Its next event was the DRL U.S. Air Force Miami Invitational at loanDepot park on February 1, 2025, a one-night, 12-pilot race announced in a November 2024 press release. No DRL season or event has been announced since.

Where machine racing is still happening

The drone racing calendar didn’t stop with the DRL. It moved to other organizers, mostly outside the US, and none of them has a US sportsbook partner we can find.

Drone Champions League

The team-based Drone Champions League runs three cups and a Super Final each season. In 2026, Vexcel Spain Drone Team won both the Falcon Cup and the Eagle Cup, beating Cyclone Racing 37–13 in the Eagle Cup final.

MultiGP

The US grassroots circuit held its 2026 Championship in Carrollton, Texas, on October 15–17. MCK FPV, the last DRL world champion, won it.

Autonomous drone racing

A2RL’s Abu Dhabi championship in January 2026 put AI-flown drones on a $600,000 prize pool. TII Racing set a 12.032-second lap, then lost a best-of-nine Human vs AI final 5–4 to pilot Minchan Kim. The DCL and Anduril AI Grand Prix, with a $500,000 prize pool, has its final scheduled for Ohio in November 2026.

US sportsbooks rarely list events like these. If one does, expect a winner market or a head-to-head priced as a special, with low limits.

Prediction markets: betting on the tech instead of the race

Prediction markets sell event contracts that pay $1 if an outcome happens and nothing if it doesn’t. They are regulated as derivatives by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission rather than by state gaming boards, which is why they can operate in states without legal sports betting.

They are the most active place to back a view on machine intelligence. Polymarket lists a contract on which company will have the top AI model at the end of the year, resolved by a public leaderboard, and Kalshi carries technology markets. DraftKings Predictions and FanDuel Predicts both launched in December 2025 with sports, economics and culture contracts.

Two cautions. First, availability depends on the platform and your state, and several states are fighting sports contracts in court. Check our prediction market legal states tracker before you sign up. Second, trading event contracts involves risk of loss, and you can lose your whole position.

How drone race betting markets work

If a league comes back, the markets will look much like the ones DraftKings ran.

Race or level winner

A DRL level ran semifinal heats, then a six-pilot Golden Heat that decided the winner. Back one pilot to win the level. Prices tend to be tight on the top seeds and long on rookies.

Head-to-head

Pick which of two pilots finishes higher. With six finalists, one crash can decide it, so these markets carry more variance than they look.

Season futures

Back a pilot to win the world title. The 2022-23 DRL season awarded 25 points for an in-person level win and fewer for simulator levels, so consistency across both formats mattered.

In-race betting

DraftKings offered live bets during races. Drone heats last a couple of minutes at most, so in-race prices move fast and favor anyone watching a feed with less delay.

Why drone racing is hard for sportsbooks to price

A trader pricing an NFL game has decades of data, injury reports and a betting market that corrects mistakes within minutes. A trader pricing a drone heat has a handful of past results, often from a different track, and a sport where one clipped gate ends a run.

That shows up in three ways. Margins are wider, because the book is protecting itself against what it doesn’t know. Limits are lower, because a small number of informed bettors can do real damage. And markets are simpler, with winner and head-to-head bets rather than the props and parlays you get on mainstream sports.

Integrity is the other hurdle. State regulators want an official data source and a clear way to settle disputes. A league with broadcast deals and a points system, as the DRL had, can provide that. A one-off exhibition usually can’t.

Drone racing betting terms

• Level: a single DRL race event, made up of seeding, semifinals and a final.
• Golden Heat: the six-pilot final that decided each DRL Level.
• Heat: one run of the course, usually lasting under two minutes.
• FPV: first-person view. Pilots fly using goggles that show a live feed from the drone’s camera.
• Special: a one-off market a sportsbook creates for an event outside its regular menu.
• Event contract: a prediction market position that pays $1 if an outcome happens.

Betting a niche market sensibly

• Use licensed apps only. Your state regulator lists approved operators on our US betting by state pages.
• Expect low limits and wide margins on any novelty market.
• Know the rules: crashes, re-flies and disqualifications are settled by each book’s house rules.
• Set a deposit limit before you bet on a sport you’re still learning.
