Novig Sign-Up Bonus & Welcome Offer: Deposit $10, Get $50 in Trade Credits | Review
Novig is a sports-first exchange that charges nothing on pre-game trades. We look at its CFTC status, fee model, deposit costs, state access and where it fits.
Novig’s welcome offer is simple: deposit $10 and get $50 in trade credits as a new player. It suits sports traders aged 21 and over who want to stop paying the bookmaker’s margin.
Trading event contracts involves risk of loss. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. Market availability depends on your location.
Novig welcome offer
Novig’s App Store listing states the deal directly: “New Player Promo: Deposit $10 & Get $50 in Trade Credits.” A $10 deposit is the only qualifying step named in the listing.
Trade credits are for trading. You place them on Novig’s markets like cash, but the credit itself is not a withdrawable balance. Check the offer terms in the app for when the credits land and how long you have to use them.

Novig review
A standard sportsbook line of -110 on both sides of a game builds in about 4.5% for the house. Novig’s whole pitch is that you should not have to pay it. The company calls itself commission-free, and on pre-game trades it is: two traders meet on an order book, and Novig takes nothing.
After changing its business model more than once, Novig now runs as a CFTC-registered prediction market. It is the leanest sports trading app in our rankings, with fast payouts and no limits on winners. It is also 21+, absent from three states and almost entirely about sports.

What Novig is, and how it got here
Novig started life as a sports exchange that promised to strip the vig out of betting. It has rebuilt its legal structure more than once to keep that promise alive. The current version operates under federal commodities rules as a CFTC-registered prediction market, the same broad framework as Kalshi and Polymarket US.
The Novig site still leads with the original idea: set your own odds, or take the best price on the exchange, and keep “all you’ve earned.” That is the exchange model in a sentence. It is also why sharp sports bettors pay attention to Novig.
How the exchange model works
On a sportsbook, you bet against the house at a price it sets. On Novig, every trade has another trader on the other side.
- Takers accept a price already on the book. That is the quickest way to get filled.
- Makers post a price and wait for someone to accept it. Makers often get a better number, at the cost of possibly not being filled.
Because Novig earns from fees rather than from customer losses, it has no reason to limit accounts that win. That alone is a big draw for bettors who have been capped at traditional sportsbooks.
Novig fees, line by line
Trading fees
Pre-game trades are fee-free for makers and takers alike. Maker fills are also free. Fees kick in on live in-game trades and on parlays.
Novig softens the live fee with a Maker Credit Program, which returns 50% of the taker fee to the maker on live in-game fills. If you post resting orders during games, you are partly subsidized by the traders who hit them.
Deposit fees
This is the catch. Credit card, debit card and Apple Pay deposits carry a 3% fee. Bank transfers and stablecoin deposits are free. On a $200 card deposit, you pay $6 before you place a trade, which wipes out the vig you saved on several pre-game positions. Fund by bank.
What fee-free really saves
Take a game priced at 50/50. A sportsbook at -110 on both sides asks you to risk $110 to win $100. On Novig, a 50-cent contract risks $50 to win $50, with no fee pre-game, so the same $110 stake would return $110 profit on a win. Markets on Novig
Novig is a sports app first. Expect the major US leagues, with pre-game markets, live in-game trading and parlays. Non-sports coverage is thin compared with Kalshi or Polymarket US. If you want elections, economic data or AI markets, you will need a second account.
Two features stand out:
- Early Payout: if you hedge a position to lock in profit, Novig credits that profit before the event settles.
- Fair Value Settlement: if a market cannot resolve cleanly, Novig settles positions at a fair value rather than voiding them.
Hedging is central to how exchange traders work. Our hedge calculator shows how much to place on the other side to guarantee a result.
Age, sign-up and states
You must be 21 or older and pass identity checks. Novig is available in every state except Arizona, Michigan and Nevada.
Nevada’s exclusion follows the state’s long-running fight with prediction markets. After the Ninth Circuit’s August 2026 ruling for Nevada, Front Office Sports noted that Novig was among the platforms not offering sports event contracts in the state. Arizona brought criminal charges against Kalshi in March 2026, a sign of how hostile some states remain. Our legal states tracker has the details.
Deposits and withdrawals
The minimum deposit is $10. Options include:
- Bank transfer (free)
- Stablecoin (free)
- Aeropay
- Credit or debit card (3% fee)
- Apple Pay (3% fee)
Payouts are among the fastest in the category, typically landing within minutes. There is no playthrough requirement before you can withdraw your own winnings.
The app and support
Novig runs on iOS, Android and desktop, built around a visible order book. A loyalty scheme, Novig Points, rewards activity. Support runs around the clock by live chat, backed by a help center.
Making markets on Novig
On an exchange, the advantage goes to makers. Suppose the best offer on a team is 52 cents and the best bid is 48 cents. You think 50 cents is fair.
- Post a bid for 100 contracts at 49 cents. If someone sells into it, you are long at 49 cents with no fee.
- If the price moves to 55 cents before the game, you can sell and keep the difference, again with no pre-game fee.
- If your bid sits unfilled, cancel it. Nothing is charged.
Takers pay the spread; makers earn it. On a fee-free pre-game book, that spread is the only cost in the system.
Live and parlay trades
Once a game starts, fees apply. Live markets move fast, spreads widen, and the taker fee adds to the cost of chasing a price. The Maker Credit Program means patient traders who post resting orders in-game recover half of the taker fee their orders generate.
Parlays also carry a fee and the familiar all-legs-must-win risk. A three-leg combination of 50-cent sides has a true probability of 12.5%, so it needs to pay better than 7-to-1 to be worth the fee. Our parlay calculator does the math.
Taxes
Exchange profits are taxable income. Download your statements at year-end and speak to a tax professional about reporting.
Who Novig suits
- Pre-game sports bettors tired of paying the vig.
- Winning bettors who have been limited by sportsbooks.
- Limit-order traders who want to earn the spread.
How Novig compares
Against Kalshi, Novig is cheaper for pre-game sports traders but much narrower, and 21+ rather than 18+. Against FanDuel Predicts, Novig has no pre-game fee where FanDuel takes 2% of the payout. FanDuel, though, has the brand, the 18+ age limit and CME Group behind it.
Head-to-head
| App | CFTC role | Age | Trading fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Novig | CFTC-registered | 21+ | Free pre-game; fees on live and parlays |
| Kalshi | DCM | 18+ | 0.07 × price × (1 − price) |
| FanDuel Predicts | FCM (CME-listed) | 18+ | 2% of payout |
Trading responsibly
Fast payouts and no limits on winners are good for traders, but they also remove natural speed bumps. Set your own deposit cap, keep live in-game trading to a small slice of your budget, and walk away after a losing run. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Before you deposit
- Fund by bank or stablecoin to avoid the 3% card fee.
- Learn limit orders. Novig rewards makers; taking the first price on offer gives away the spread.
- Know the live fee. In-game trades cost money where pre-game trades do not.
Our verdict on Novig
Novig is the best value in our rankings for one specific trader: someone over 21 who bets pre-game sports, posts limit orders and funds by bank. For that person, it is close to the cheapest way to back a side in the US.
It also deserves credit for being upfront about costs: the fee model is simple, the pre-game book is genuinely free, and payouts are fast.
For everyone else, the 3% card fee and the sports-only menu count against it, as does a business that has changed shape more than once. Keep a broader app such as Kalshi as your main account.
