Trading event contracts involves risk of loss. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. Market availability depends on your location.
Fanatics Markets welcome offer
Fanatics’ new customer rewards page explains the main offer. Make your first trade in each 24-hour day and Fanatics matches it in FanCash, with the match rising day by day over 14 days. Days 1 to 3 pay up to $2.50 each, days 4 to 6 up to $5, then $7.50, $10, $12.50, $15, $17.50, $20, $20 and $25 on day 14, for up to $150 in total.
Only trades priced at $0.90 or below qualify. The offer is open to customers who sign up between September 28 and October 25, 2026.
High-volume traders get a second option. Trade $10,000 in cumulative cash trades within seven days of signing up, on contracts priced at $0.70 or lower, and Fanatics pays $500 in FanCash.
FanCash is Fanatics’ loyalty currency, spent on jerseys, hats and collectibles across its shop. It is store credit, not cash.

Fanatics Markets review
Fanatics sells the jersey, the trading card and, in a growing list of states, the sportsbook bet. Fanatics Markets, launched on December 3, 2025, is how it reaches the fans in states where the sportsbook cannot go: California, Texas, Florida, Georgia and 18 others.
It is a lean product built on someone else’s exchange, with tiny per-contract fees and FanCash rewards that feed back into the Fanatics shop. The catch is that it covers fewer than half the states and only accepts traders aged 21 and over.

Who runs Fanatics Markets
Fanatics Markets is part of Fanatics, the sports merchandise and collectibles company led by Michael Rubin, which also runs Fanatics Sportsbook in licensed states. The event contracts are offered by Morton St. Trading Investments, LLC, doing business as Fanatics Markets, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant.
Fanatics does not run its own exchange. Contracts are listed and cleared on Crypto.com | Derivatives North America, which Crypto.com describes as a CFTC-regulated exchange. That puts Fanatics in the broker seat, much like FanDuel with CME Group, and it ties Fanatics’ fortunes to CDNA’s legal position. Read our Crypto.com Predict review for how that exchange works.
Where Fanatics Markets is live
Fanatics Markets operates in 22 states:
| Region | States |
|---|---|
| West | Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah |
| South | Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas |
| Midwest and Plains | Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota |
| Northeast and Mid-Atlantic | Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island |
The pattern is deliberate. Most of these states have no legal online sportsbook, or no Fanatics Sportsbook, so Markets does not compete with Fanatics’ own licensed product. If you live in a sportsbook state, our state betting guides cover what is available there.
Minnesota deserves a flag. A state law making unlicensed prediction market operation a felony was set to take effect on August 1, 2026, and the CFTC sued to block it. Check our legal states tracker for the latest before you trade there.
Markets and contract types
Sports lead the menu: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, UFC and MMA, college sports, motorsports and boxing. Finance, economics, politics and culture markets sit alongside.
Fanatics goes further than most on contract design. As well as binary Yes/No contracts, it lists range contracts (will a total land between two numbers) and scalar contracts, plus parlays and futures-style markets. Range contracts are a neat way to express a view on a final score without picking a side. Parlays carry the usual all-legs-must-win risk. Our parlay calculator shows how quickly those odds lengthen.
Fees
Trading fees run from roughly a third of a cent to under three cents per contract, among the lowest in the category.
The bigger cost is funding. Debit card, Apple Pay, PayPal and Venmo deposits can carry a fee of up to 2%. On a $100 deposit, that is $2 gone before you trade, which can outweigh a month of trading fees for a casual user. Check the deposit screen for a fee-free option before you fund.
Age, sign-up and banking
You must be 21 or older and pass identity checks. Deposit options include debit card, Apple Pay, PayPal and Venmo. Withdrawals typically take two to five days.
The app
Fanatics Markets runs on iOS, Android and the web, so you can research on a laptop and trade from your phone. Fanatics Sportsbook is a separate product that operates in a different set of states.
Legal risk
Because Fanatics routes through CDNA, rulings against Crypto.com matter here too. The Sixth Circuit ruled on September 25, 2026, that Ohio and Tennessee can regulate event contracts under their gambling laws. That deepened a split among federal appeals courts that the Supreme Court may take up. None of Fanatics’ 22 states sits in the Sixth Circuit. Delaware is in the Third, which sided with Kalshi. Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho and Oregon are in the Ninth, which ruled for Nevada in August.
Range contracts, worked through
Range contracts are where Fanatics feels different. Instead of picking a winner, you pick a band. Suppose a contract asks whether an NBA game’s combined score will land between 220 and 229 points, priced at 30 cents.
- Buy 50 contracts: $15 plus a fraction of a cent to under three cents per contract in fees.
- If the total lands in the band: $50 back, roughly $35 profit.
- If it lands outside: you lose the $15 and fees.
A range is narrower than an over/under, so it pays more when right and misses more often. Convert the price to odds with our implied probability calculator to see how it stacks up against a standard total.
What FanCash is really worth
FanCash is not cash. It is a credit you spend inside Fanatics, mostly on merchandise. If you would buy a jersey anyway, FanCash is close to its face value. If you would not, it is worth less, because it pushes you to spend in one shop.
Treat it as a loyalty rebate rather than a cut in trading costs. Do not let a FanCash promotion talk you into trades you would not otherwise make.
Taxes
Event contract profits are taxable. Promotional credits may also have tax implications once converted or used. Keep your statements and ask a tax professional.
Who Fanatics Markets suits
- Fans in California, Texas, Florida and Georgia, where legal online sports betting is not an option.
- Fanatics shoppers who will use FanCash.
- Traders who like range and scalar contracts more than simple Yes/No.
It does not suit anyone under 21, or anyone outside the 22 states.
How it compares
Against Kalshi, Fanatics charges a similarly small fee per contract but reaches far fewer states and has a narrower market list. Against DraftKings Predictions, fees are in the same range, but Fanatics is 21+ rather than 18+ and limited to 22 states against DraftKings’ near-national footprint.
Head-to-head
| App | CFTC role | Age | Trading fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fanatics Markets | FCM (CDNA-cleared) | 21+ | About $0.0034–$0.0275 per contract |
| DraftKings Predictions | FCM | 18+ | $0.01–$0.02 per contract |
| Crypto.com Predict | DCM and clearinghouse | 21+ | About $0.02 per $1 contract |
Trading responsibly
Rewards schemes exist to keep you trading. Set a budget before you start, ignore FanCash prompts that push you toward trades you had not planned, and take a break if you find yourself chasing losses. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER.
Before you deposit
- Confirm your state. If you are not physically in one of the 22 states, the app will not let you trade, even with an account.
- Pick your funding method carefully. A 2% card or wallet fee can cost more than a month of trading fees.
- Read the contract type. Binary, range and scalar contracts pay out differently; know which one you are buying.
- Check the FanCash terms. Promotional FanCash usually expires and cannot be withdrawn, and qualifying trades can carry price conditions, so read the fine print before you chase a bonus.
Our verdict on Fanatics Markets
Fanatics Markets is a tidy, low-fee app with a rewards angle no rival can match, and it reaches the biggest non-sportsbook states. If you live in California, Texas or Florida, are over 21 and already shop with Fanatics, it is worth a look.
Everyone else will find more markets, more states and younger age limits elsewhere.
Watch this one, though. Fanatics has the brand, the customer list and a sportsbook business to learn from, and its state list has a clear logic: go where the sportsbook cannot. If the courts back federal pre-emption, expect that list to grow. If they back the states, Fanatics’ choice of non-sportsbook states may prove the safer bet.
