Best Sweepstakes Casinos: Sweeps Coins Sites That Actually Pay Out
The sweepstakes casinos we rate highest, how Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins really work, what it takes to redeem a prize, and which states have shut the model down.
Four sweepstakes casinos make our shortlist: RealPrize, NoLimitCoins, Funrize and FunzCity. You play casino-style games for free with play-only coins, or for prizes with a second, redeemable currency. Once your identity is verified, that currency turns into cash or gift cards. Below you will find how each one handles redemption, how to get prize coins without paying, and which states you cannot play from at all.
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. 18+ (21+ in some states and on some brands). Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER.

Best for daily bonusesOur sweepstakes casino picks at a glance
All four are partners of drone.bet, and we tell you that up front because it matters. It does not change the scores. Those rest on what each operator publishes in its own terms and what a new player has to do to get a prize out.
- RealPrize: the strongest all-rounder. A large game library with live dealer titles from studios such as Evolution. Its terms set an 18+ minimum age, and gift cards start at 45 Sweeps Coins. Read our RealPrize review.
- NoLimitCoins: the best low-threshold option. Gift card prizes start at 25 Super Coins and coin packages begin at $4.99. Read our NoLimitCoins review.
- Funrize: a tournament-flavored site with its own currency names (Tournament Coins and Promotional Entries) and gift cards from 25 entries. Read our Funrize review.
- FunzCity: a slots-first sister site to Funrize with a daily login streak that drip-feeds free City Coins. Read our FunzCity review.
Three of the four, Funrize, NoLimitCoins and FunzCity, are run by the same company, A1 Development LLC of Afton, Wyoming. That shows up in their near-identical terms and restricted-state lists. RealPrize belongs to RealPlay Tech Inc., which also runs LoneStar Casino.
How sweepstakes casinos work: two coins, one loophole
The model rests on a piece of US promotion law that has been around far longer than online slots. A business can run a sweepstakes with cash prizes as long as nobody has to pay to enter. Sweepstakes casinos apply that to casino games by splitting play into two currencies.
Gold Coins: the play-only currency
Gold Coins (Fun Coins at FunzCity, Tournament Coins at Funrize) are what you buy and what you get handed in bulk at sign-up. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for anything. Their job is entertainment, and the only thing you lose by running out is time.
Sweeps Coins: the prize currency
The second currency is where prizes live. RealPrize calls it Sweeps Coins, NoLimitCoins uses Super Coins, Funrize uses Promotional Entries and FunzCity uses City Coins. You never buy these directly. They arrive as a free bonus attached to a Gold Coin package, through daily rewards, or by mail-in request.
Across all four brands, one prize coin is worth one dollar when redeemed. Winnings made with prize coins can be redeemed once they clear the playthrough rule. At most sites, that means each coin has to be played once before it counts.
Why it is not real-money gambling
Because buying Gold Coins is never required to obtain prize coins, regulators in most states treat these platforms as promotional sweepstakes rather than gambling. Several states disagree, which is why the list of places you can play keeps shrinking. If you want regulated real-money betting instead, our state betting hub covers the 10 states we track.
Sweepstakes casino redemption: minimums, KYC and speed by brand
This is where the brands separate. Every one of them makes you verify your identity before releasing a prize, and every one sets a higher bar for cash than for gift cards.
| Casino | Prize currency | Gift card minimum | Cash minimum | Cash routes | Typical speed | Min age (terms) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RealPrize | Sweeps Coins (SC) | 45 SC | 100 SC | Bank transfer, Skrill, card | Gift cards around 24 hours; cash 1 to 5 days | 18+ |
| NoLimitCoins | Super Coins (SC) | 25 SC | 100 SC | PayPal, push-to-card | Gift cards around 24 hours; cash up to 7 days | 21+ |
| Funrize | Promotional Entries (PE) | 25 PE | 100 PE | Card, PayPal, bank transfer | Gift cards around 24 hours; cash up to about a week, longer by bank | 21+ |
| FunzCity | City Coins (CC) | Shown on the redeem screen | 50 CC by bank transfer | ACH bank transfer, Visa debit | Gift cards within 48 hours; bank up to 10 days | 21+ |
What KYC actually involves
Know Your Customer checks are written into each operator’s terms of use. Funrize’s terms of service spell out the standard set. You need a government photo ID such as a passport or driver’s license, plus a utility bill matching your registered address. On request, you may also need source-of-funds documents like a payslip or bank statement. Accounts can be restricted until checks are complete.
The practical advice is to verify before you need to. Upload your documents the day you open an account, so the first redemption request is not stuck behind a review queue. Use the same name and address on the account that appears on your ID and on the card you pay with.
The 1x playthrough rule
Prize coins that arrive as bonuses usually have to be played through once before they become redeemable. Play 50 SC on any eligible game and those 50 SC, or whatever is left of them plus winnings, become eligible. That is far lighter than the wagering requirements on real-money casino bonuses. Still, a freshly credited bonus balance cannot be redeemed straight away.
Free Sweeps Coins: every way in without paying
“No purchase necessary” is the legal foundation of the whole industry, so every operator has to give you a free route to prize coins. In practice, there are four.
Sign-up and verification bonuses
New accounts receive a bundle of play coins and, at most brands, a small amount of prize coins once email or phone is verified. Offers change often, so check the current welcome offer on each operator’s page before you register.
Daily rewards
Daily logins are the steadiest source. RealPrize credits a daily bonus every 24 hours. FunzCity runs a five-day login streak called Daily Express that pays City Coins and free plays. The A1 Development sites spin a daily bonus wheel once your phone number is verified.
The mail-in request (AMOE)
The Alternative Method of Entry is the legal backstop. You handwrite a request on an index card with the exact statement and personal details the official rules ask for. Then you post it to the address in the sweepstakes rules. An accepted request typically returns a small credit, commonly one prize coin, and the name and address must match your verified account. It is slow and modest, but it exists, and it is the reason the model is legal in most states.
Social giveaways
All four brands run promotions on their social channels, from comment-to-win draws to community events on FunzCity’s Discord. Treat them as a bonus, not a strategy.
Where sweepstakes casinos are banned or blocked
The map has changed fast. Nine states now ban dual-currency sweepstakes casinos by statute: California, Connecticut, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, New York and Tennessee. Oklahoma’s ban, passed over the governor’s veto, takes effect on November 1, 2026.
New York’s version, S5935-A, was signed on December 5, 2025. It carries fines of $10,000 to $100,000 per violation and reaches payment processors and media affiliates as well as operators. Idaho, Michigan, Nevada and Washington block the model under existing gambling law. A further group of states, including Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania, has turned to cease-and-desist letters or lawsuits.
Operators also set their own lists. The three A1 Development brands exclude Rhode Island, West Virginia and Wyoming as well as the banned states. In California, Indiana, Maine and Maryland they allow only free play-only mode, with no prize redemption. Our sweepstakes casino legal states tracker has the full table, with bill numbers and dates.
How we rate sweepstakes casinos
We score each site out of 10 on six things, weighted towards the moment that matters most: getting a prize out.
- Redemption (30%): gift card and cash minimums, the range of payout methods, published processing times and any caps.
- Transparency (20%): whether the operator names its company, publishes its restricted states and makes its rules easy to find.
- Free coin value (15%): daily rewards, a working mail-in route and how much prize currency arrives without a purchase.
- Games (15%): library size, studio quality and whether there is anything beyond slots.
- Mobile (10%): app availability and how well the mobile site runs.
- Support and safer play (10%): live chat, response channels and the responsible play tools on offer.
We do not score coin package bonuses heavily. A big headline number on a $99.99 bundle tells you little about whether the site is a good place to play.
Fastest-paying sweepstakes casinos
Speed comes down to two things: the redemption method and whether your account is already verified. Gift cards are the quickest route at every brand on our list, usually arriving within one to two days. Cash takes longer because it runs through banking rails.
- Quickest gift cards: RealPrize, NoLimitCoins and Funrize all aim for roughly 24 hours on gift card prizes.
- Quickest cash: RealPrize’s bank and Skrill redemptions typically clear in one to five days, the tightest window among our four.
- Lowest entry point: NoLimitCoins and Funrize let you redeem gift cards from 25 prize coins, the lowest threshold here.
RealPrize also caps a single redemption request at 10,000 SC, which only matters if you hit something large.
New sweepstakes casinos: what to check first
New brands appear every month, and many are white-label copies running the same software under a fresh name. Before you buy a coin package from any new site, look for four things.
- A named company with an address in the terms of use. All four of our picks pass this test.
- A published list of restricted states that reflects the latest bans.
- Sweepstakes or award rules with a mail-in address. If the free route is missing, so is the legal basis.
- Clear redemption minimums before you play, not after.
Sweepstakes casinos are one of two money markets we cover outside traditional sportsbooks. The other is event contracts. Our prediction markets guide explains how platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket work in states where sweeps sites are no longer available.
Sweeps coins casino tips that save money
- Claim the free daily rewards before you consider buying anything. They add up over a month.
- If you do buy, treat the Gold Coins as the product and the bonus prize coins as a perk, not an investment.
- Check a game’s return-to-player figure. A higher RTP stretches your prize coins further over a long session.
- Set a monthly purchase limit in the responsible play settings on day one.

FAQ
Are sweepstakes casinos legal?
They operate under US sweepstakes law in most states because no purchase is necessary to play for prizes. A growing list of states has banned or blocked them, including California, Connecticut, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, New York and Tennessee. Oklahoma's ban starts November 1, 2026. Check our state tracker before signing up.
Can you win real money at a sweepstakes casino?
You can redeem prize-eligible coins (Sweeps Coins or their equivalent) for cash or gift cards once you pass identity checks and meet the minimum. Usually you must play each coin through once first. Gold Coins and other play-only currencies have no cash value. Sweepstakes casinos are not real-money gambling sites.
Do sweepstakes casinos make you verify your ID?
Yes. All four casinos we rate reserve the right to ask for photo ID and a utility bill matching your address. You will not get a prize redemption approved without passing those checks. Some also ask for source-of-funds documents on larger redemptions.
How do I get free Sweeps Coins?
Every legitimate sweepstakes casino must offer a free way to enter. The usual routes are the sign-up bonus, daily login rewards or bonus wheels, social media giveaways and a mail-in request. For the mail-in route, a handwritten card sent to the address in the official rules typically returns a small amount of prize coins.
What is the minimum age for sweepstakes casinos?
It depends on the brand. RealPrize's terms set the minimum at 18, while Funrize, NoLimitCoins and FunzCity require players to be over 21. Some states set a higher age, so the stricter rule always applies.
