Matchbook Promo Codes REBATE20 and COMMFREE110: How to Use Them, and Which to Choose
How to use Matchbook's two Promo Codes: REBATE20 for a 20% rebate on exchange losses and COMMFREE110 for 0% commission over 110 days, and which to pick.
Matchbook gives new customers a choice of two Promo Codes, and they pay out in opposite circumstances. REBATE20 returns 20% of your qualifying losses on Matchbook Exchange markets during your first 30 days, up to £1,000. COMMFREE110 drops your commission to 0% on sports bets for your first 110 days. One rewards a bad month, the other a good few months, and Matchbook’s terms allow only one per customer.
The decision therefore has to be made before you open the account, because both codes are attached at registration and cannot be swapped later. What follows covers how each code works in pounds, the conditions that apply to both, and how to judge which suits the way you bet.

How to use a Matchbook promo code when you sign up
Both codes follow the same pattern, and the steps below apply to whichever you choose:
- Decide between REBATE20 and COMMFREE110 before you start, because the code cannot be changed once the account is open.
- Register a new account on matchbook.com or the Matchbook app, entering your chosen code as the bonus code.
- Make your first deposit. For COMMFREE110, a first deposit by Skrill, Neteller or Paysafecard does not qualify, so a debit card is the safer choice.
- Start betting on Matchbook Exchange markets. Both promotional periods are counted from the date you registered, not from your deposit.
- When the period ends, your account returns to Matchbook’s default terms.
That last point about timing separates Matchbook from Smarkets, whose COMMFREE code runs from first deposit. At Matchbook the clock is already ticking while you decide what to fund the account with, so it pays to deposit and begin soon after registering.
How Matchbook commission works on the exchange
Matchbook describes itself as a peer-to-peer exchange: customers back and lay against each other rather than against a bookmaker, and Matchbook, owned and operated by Triplebet Limited, makes its money through commission. Its standard rate, according to its own welcome page, is 2% on net winnings, with nothing charged on losing bets.
In pounds, that means a customer who wins £500 on a market normally hands back £10. Someone who nets £3,000 in winnings over almost four months would pay £60. Both of Matchbook’s codes are built around that fee, one by removing it, the other by cushioning losses while you learn how the exchange works. Our guide to UK betting exchanges explains backing, laying and liability for anyone new to them.
Matchbook REBATE20: 20% back on first-month exchange losses
REBATE20 is a safety net for your first month. Matchbook adds up your overall qualifying losses on its exchange markets over the 30 calendar days from registration and returns 20% of them, with a ceiling of £1,000. The rebate is worked out on your overall qualifying losses for the whole period rather than bet by bet.
The sums are straightforward. £200 of overall qualifying losses would return £40; £1,000 would return £200. Reaching the £1,000 ceiling would take £5,000 of qualifying losses, a sum few new customers should be anywhere near, so for most people the rebate will be modest. Its real purpose is to soften a poor start.
The exclusions are narrow but important. Only Matchbook Exchange markets count. Losses on multiples, Bet Builders, the casino or any other Matchbook product are excluded, so a customer who spends the first month on accumulators will find little of it covered.
Matchbook COMMFREE110: 110 days without commission
COMMFREE110 removes the commission on sports bets for 110 days, close to four months of trading. Matchbook’s terms say new customers who create an account with the code and deposit will have their account commission rate set to 0% for that period, counted from the date of registration. Its welcome page puts the value of the offer at up to £1,000.
Three conditions shape how much it is worth. The offer applies only to bets made through the Matchbook Exchange or Matchbook Zero interface, and Enhanced Specials markets are excluded. Bets placed or settled outside the promotional period are subject to commission, so an outright bet that settles in month five will be charged at the normal rate. And taking part rules you out of any future 0% commission promotion at Matchbook, which makes this a once-only opportunity.
REBATE20 or COMMFREE110: which Matchbook sign-up code to choose
The two codes reward opposite outcomes. COMMFREE110 saves you money when you win, and the saving grows with your turnover over almost four months. It suits regular traders, in-play users and racing punters who lay as well as back, particularly those with a busy spell of racing or football ahead.
REBATE20 pays out only when you lose, and only in your first 30 days. It suits someone trying an exchange for the first time who wants some cover while learning how backing and laying work, or who plans a concentrated burst of betting in that first month. A customer who expects to bet often for months, or simply to finish ahead, should take COMMFREE110. A cautious newcomer is better served by REBATE20.
Is a Matchbook sign-up offer worth claiming?
Either code is worth having if you intend to use the exchange, because neither asks you to bet more than you would anyway and neither carries a wagering requirement. COMMFREE110 is the stronger offer for an experienced exchange user: 110 days is nearly twice the 60 that Smarkets gives, though the Matchbook period starts at registration rather than deposit. REBATE20 is narrower, but it is one of the few UK sign-up offers that pays out precisely when a newcomer has had a bad run. For a customer who would rather have free bets, Matchbook’s sister brand easyBet offers promo code EB20, though claiming it rules out future 0% commission deals.
Matchbook offer terms on households and sister brands
One deposit rule deserves a check before you sign up. COMMFREE110 does not qualify if your first deposit is made by Skrill, Neteller or Paysafecard, so a debit card is the safer choice for that first payment. Because the 110 days are counted from registration, a failed first deposit also costs time as well as the offer.
Both codes are for new customers aged 18 or over who register with the correct code, and sign-up promotions cannot be combined. COMMFREE110 is limited to one per individual, family, household address, email address, payment account and shared computer. easyBet is run by the same company, and existing Matchbook customers cannot claim easyBet’s EB20 offer, so anyone weighing up both brands should decide which to join first.
Matchbook promo code for existing customers
Neither code works on an existing account. Both are attached at registration and are limited to new customers, and a customer who has taken part in COMMFREE110 cannot be added to future 0% commission promotions.
Matchbook’s UK licence and operator
Matchbook is run by Triplebet Limited, account number 39504 on the Gambling Commission public register. Its remote licences cover betting intermediary (the exchange), general betting, pool betting and casino. The register lists matchbook and easybet as its trading names, and www.matchbook.com as an active domain. As a licensee, Triplebet must verify your age and identity, offer deposit limits and take part in GAMSTOP.
Setting limits and getting help with gambling
A loss rebate is not a reason to bet more, and a deposit limit set before your first payment keeps a first month on the exchange within bounds. If gambling stops being enjoyable, GAMSTOP blocks every licensed UK site in one step, GambleAware offers free advice and the National Gambling Helpline is available on 0808 8020 133.
