What the headline leaves out is the clock. The bonus carries 10x wagering, the most UK rules now allow, and it has to be completed within five days. The most common way to miss the offer is to deposit through the ordinary cashier and only then go looking for the code. Because the offer applies to the first deposit alone, a deposit made without WINK50 uses up the only chance to claim it. Opting in to another promotion first causes the same problem, since the two cannot be combined.

The table shows why a bigger deposit is not automatically the better choice. Clearing £500 of wagering in five days means about £100 of bingo a day, which at 5p a ticket is 2,000 tickets a day. Doubling the deposit to £20 doubles the bonus, but it also doubles the daily play needed to £200. Any deposit above £20 adds nothing to the bonus at all.

For most people, then, the £10 deposit and £50 bonus is the realistic choice. Bingo bonus play is recycled money rather than new cash: a ticket bought with bonus that wins tops up the bonus balance, which then counts towards further wagering. But the number of games needed is fixed by the wagering figure, and five days is a short time in which to play them.

Can you clear 10x wagering on a Wink bonus in five days?

It is possible, with a plan. The cash deposit is spent first, because Wink only lets the bingo bonus be played once the cash balance is at zero, so the £10 goes before any bonus money. After that, the 5p rooms give the most games per pound, and logging in every day keeps the bonus alive. Completing £500 still means hundreds of tickets in every session, so it suits players who already play most evenings.

It helps to decide at the outset whether the goal is the bonus or the cash. If an early win from the deposit is tempting to withdraw, doing so forfeits whatever bonus remains. For a £50 bonus, the 5p rooms give the most games for the money, and Mystery Jackpot offers a prize of up to £500 at that price. Flip it, at 2p to 5p, is the cheapest 90-ball option. Who runs Wink Bingo? Broadway Gaming and its UK licence

Wink is a Broadway Gaming brand. The operator is Broadway Gaming Ireland DF Limited, incorporated in the Republic of Ireland and based in Dublin, which holds Gambling Commission account 58267. Shop Coins: Wink Bingo rewards for existing players
