William Hill Promo Code S30: How to Use It for Bet £10 Get £30 in Free Bets

How to use the William Hill Promo Code S30 for Bet £10 Get £30 in free bets, with the claim steps, excluded deposit methods and the terms that matter.

William Hill promo code S30 for Bet £10 Get £30 in free bets

The William Hill Promo Code is S30, and unlike some of its rivals, the bookmaker means it. Register with the code, deposit £10, place a £10 single at evens or bigger, and three £10 free bets land in your account once that bet settles. The result of the qualifying bet makes no difference. Win or lose, the £30 follows, and it can be spent on horse racing, football or any other sports market except Virtuals.

The offer is simple on paper, but three of its conditions trip up new customers more than any other: the code has to go in at registration, the first deposit cannot be made with Apple Pay, PayPal or several other wallets, and the qualifying bet must be a single at a price of 2.0 or more. Each is explained below, along with what the three free bets are worth in practice.

How to use the William Hill promo code S30, step by step

The order matters, because the offer is attached to the code rather than to the deposit. The full sequence runs as follows:

  1. Sign up for a new William Hill account online and enter Promo Code S30 as you register.
  2. Make a first deposit of £10 or more by debit card or another method not on the excluded list.
  3. Place a £10 single from your main balance at odds of evens (2.0) or bigger on any sports market except Virtuals.
  4. Wait for the bet to settle. £30 in free bets is then credited as three £10 free bets.
  5. Use each free bet within seven days of it being credited, staking the full £10 each time.

None of these steps takes long. A customer who registers on a Saturday morning, backs a horse in the first race and watches it settle can have the free bets in time for the afternoon’s racing.

Why William Hill needs its sign-up code at registration

Not every bookmaker works this way. bet365, for example, accepts promo code 365GMBLR but states that it makes no difference to the offer. William Hill’s offer, by contrast, is for new UK customers “registering with promo code S30”, which makes the code the condition rather than a courtesy. A customer who registers first and goes looking for the code afterwards has left it too late.

The offer is also online only. It cannot be claimed over the counter in a William Hill shop, and it is limited to one per customer. Anyone who has held a William Hill online account before should assume they are not a new customer for these purposes.

Which first bets qualify for William Hill’s welcome offer?

The trigger is one £10 single at evens or bigger, and each part of that sentence carries weight. It must be a single, so a double, treble, Trixie or accumulator will not count, however generous the combined price. It must be at 2.0 or more, which means a horse at 2/1 or a football team at 6/5 qualifies while an odds-on favourite at 4/6 does not. And it must come from your main balance, meaning the cash you have just deposited.

The market can be almost anything on the sportsbook. Racing, football, tennis, golf and darts all count; virtual racing and virtual football do not. The result does not matter either. As long as the bet qualifies and settles, the free bets follow.

Apple Pay, PayPal and the deposit methods that rule you out

This is the term that most often costs people the offer. Deposits made by PayPal, Neosurf, Paysafe, Apple Pay, NETELLER, Skrill, ecoPayz, Kalibra/Postpay or the WH PLUS Card do not qualify. The list is long, and it catches the payment methods many people now use by default on a phone. If your handset offers Apple Pay at the cashier, it is worth switching to entering your debit card details by hand for this first deposit.

The restriction applies only to the qualifying deposit. Once the offer has been claimed, any method William Hill accepts can be used for later deposits. Credit cards, it should be said, are not an option at any UK bookmaker: the Gambling Commission banned gambling on credit cards in April 2020.

William Hill free bets: what three £10 bets are worth

Each free bet must be used in full as a single £10 stake, so they cannot be broken into smaller amounts. They work on any sports market except Virtuals, last seven days from the moment they are credited and cannot be withdrawn as cash.

As with most UK free bets, the stake is not part of your returns, and that shapes how best to use them. A £10 free bet on a 4/1 winner pays £40, not £50. On an even-money winner it pays £10. Over three bets the difference adds up: three winners at evens would return £30, while a single winner at 5/1 from three attempts would return £50. That is why many punters keep free bets for prices they would have backed anyway rather than using them on the shortest favourite on the card.

A typical first weekend might look like this. You deposit £10 by debit card and back a horse at 3/1 with a £10 single. If it wins you collect £40 from your main balance; if it loses, the £10 is gone. Either way, once the race is settled three £10 free bets arrive. One placed on a 5/2 shot in a later race returns £25 if it wins, with the £10 stake kept back, and the other two need to be used within the same seven days. Each-way punters can check returns at any place terms with our each-way calculator.

S30 against bet365 and Smarkets: which sign-up offer to choose

S30 suits a racing or football punter who wants a straightforward deal: one qualifying bet, no wagering, and free bets that work across almost the whole sportsbook. Its evens minimum is the main drawback for anyone who backs short-priced favourites. bet365’s sign-up offer sets the bar at 1/5 instead, and also pays £30, though in Bet Credits rather than three fixed £10 free bets.

A different kind of customer may prefer an exchange. Someone who bets often and would rather pay less in fees than receive free bets will get more from a commission code such as Smarkets’ COMMFREE, which removes commission for 60 days. The William Hill deal suits the opposite profile: a few bets a week, mostly singles, at prices of evens or longer.

Is the William Hill sign-up offer worth claiming?

For most new customers, yes, provided they read the deposit exclusions first. The offer asks for one £10 bet at a fair price, pays out regardless of the result and attaches no wagering to the free bets. The tightest conditions are the seven-day expiry and the requirement to stake each £10 free bet in one go, both of which favour someone who already bets on most weekends. A customer who rarely bets, or only on odds-on shots, will find better value elsewhere on our free bets comparison.

William Hill promo code for existing customers

S30 is for new UK customers only and is limited to one per customer. Existing account holders receive William Hill’s ongoing promotions, such as Acca Boost, through the bookmaker itself. They are covered in our full William Hill review.

William Hill’s UK licence and the Vegas casino offer

William Hill’s online business is run by WHG (International) Limited, account number 39225 on the Gambling Commission public register. Its remote licences cover general betting, pool betting, casino and bingo, all active since 1 November 2014. That licence obliges William Hill to verify your age and identity before you bet, to offer deposit limits and time-outs, and to take part in GAMSTOP.

S30 covers the sportsbook only. William Hill Vegas has a separate casino welcome offer, set out in our William Hill Vegas offer guide, and under Gambling Commission rules in force since 19 January 2026 the two cannot be bundled into one cross-product deal. For racing coverage, Best Odds Guaranteed and the app, see our horse racing betting sites guide.

Setting limits and getting help with gambling

The William Hill offer is open only to adults aged 18 or over, and a deposit limit set before your first payment is the simplest way to keep spending in check. If gambling starts to feel like a problem, GAMSTOP blocks access to every licensed UK site at once, GambleAware offers free and confidential advice, and the National Gambling Helpline is on 0808 8020 133.

All the codes we list are collected on our UK promo codes page. The bet365 promo code 365GMBLR covers a £30 offer with a lower minimum price, and the easyBet promo code EB20 rewards accas and Bet Builders. For other deals built around a £10 stake, see our roundup of bet £10 get free bets offers.
