Bet £5 Get £30: Ladbrokes and Coral’s Six £5 Free Bets, and the Cheapest Alternatives

Ladbrokes and Coral's bet £5 get £30 offers explained line by line, with the cheapest £10-qualifier alternatives for comparison.

Bet £5 get £30 free bets at Ladbrokes and Coral: six £5 free bets for a £5 bet at odds of 1/2

Bet £5 get £30 is the cheapest mainstream welcome offer in British betting, and only two bookmakers run it: Ladbrokes and Coral. Both sit on the same Entain platform, both are promoted by LC International Limited, and both pay six £5 free bets for a first bet of £5 at 1/2. Where they differ is in how those six free bets can be used, and in a handful of exclusions on the qualifying bet. Below we set out the detail from each set of terms, explain what the offer is realistically worth, and compare the cheapest alternatives for anyone prepared to stake £10.

On paper the two offers are near twins. The rows that differ, the Bet Builder split and the excluded qualifying bets, are the ones that should decide which account you open.

Ladbrokes bet £5 get £30: six £5 free bets explained

Register a new account, deposit £5 or more and place a real-money sports bet of at least £5 at 1/2 or bigger within 14 days. Once that first qualifying bet is placed, Ladbrokes credits six £5 free bets: four for any sportsbook market and two for any football Bet Builder. They must be used within seven days, each in full, and cannot go on virtual sports, Tote or Pools. The qualifying bet cannot be cashed out, and for a single-line accumulator every selection must be priced at 1/2 or bigger, not just the combined odds.

The offer is open to verified UK and Republic of Ireland customers aged 18 or over who have not yet deposited, and Ladbrokes has run it in this form since 11 September 2025. No Promo Code is needed; the offer is applied automatically when you register through the offer card. The free bet stake is not included in any winnings, and the site’s general maximum payout rules apply to anything you win. Football fans get the most from it, since a third of the package is reserved for football Bet Builders. Our Ladbrokes review covers the sportsbook, app and racing concessions.

Coral’s £5 sign-up offer: the same £30, with a racing Bet Builder

Coral’s mechanics match Ladbrokes’: deposit £5, place a first sports bet of £5 at 1/2 within 14 days of registering, and receive six £5 free bets valid for seven days. Coral’s current terms date from 9 February 2026, and they are stricter on the qualifying bet. Only your first placed bet counts, and it must not be on specials markets, Tote or Pools, or placed with a price boost. A first bet on a boosted price, which many new customers are drawn to, would therefore forfeit the offer.

The difference that matters to racing fans is the split. Coral gives four £5 free bets for any sportsbook market, one for a football Bet Builder and one for a horse racing Bet Builder. Coral’s terms also confirm that if a free bet is voided, the stake is returned to you. The Coral review has more on its racing markets and Best Odds Guaranteed.

Ladbrokes or Coral: which bet £5 get £30 offer suits you?

For a football-first punter, Ladbrokes is the better fit, with two football Bet Builder free bets against Coral’s one. For anyone who follows racing, Coral’s horse racing Bet Builder tips the balance. In both cases the four £5 free bets for any sportsbook market are where most of the value lies, and those are identical.

Because the two brands share a platform, the accounts look and feel much alike, and you can only claim each welcome offer once. Choose on the free bet split and on which app you would rather keep using after the six free bets have gone. The only trap worth flagging is Coral’s ban on price-boosted qualifying bets; place a plain bet at 1/2 or longer and you are safe at either.

Why 1/2 qualifying odds make this the cheapest welcome offer

The minimum odds on the qualifying bet decide how much the offer really costs. A £5 bet at 1/2 returns £7.50 if it wins, and a selection at that price is expected to win far more often than one at evens. Better still, both bookmakers credit the free bets once the qualifying bet is placed, so they arrive whether it wins or loses. You do not have to wait for the result, and you do not need it to win.

Compare that with SBK’s £40 offer, which needs £10 at 3.0, or Betfred’s £50, which needs £10 at evens. Their headline totals are bigger, but the qualifying stake is twice as large and loses more often. On cost alone, Ladbrokes and Coral at 1/2 are the gentlest way into a free bet offer on the UK market.

Getting value from six £5 free bets

A £5 free bet does not return its stake. Win at 4.0 and you collect £15; win at 1.5 and you collect just £2.50. That asymmetry means short-priced favourites waste most of a free bet’s value, while bigger prices keep more of it. Six small free bets reward patience: the four flexible ones are best spent on prices between roughly 3.0 and 6.0, where a winner returns between £10 and £25.

Treat the Bet Builder free bets as what they are, small stakes on longer combined odds. A £5 football Bet Builder at 8.0 would pay £35 if it landed, but it will lose more often than not. Over many bets, a stake-not-returned free bet is worth roughly half its face value at evens and more at longer odds, so the whole £30 package is realistically worth something around £15 to an average punter. That is still a generous return on a £5 qualifying bet that might itself win.

The UK free bets guide has a table of free bet value at different odds, and the odds converter turns 1/2 into 1.5 and back.

Spreadex matches Ladbrokes and Coral pound for pound at the same 1/2 qualifying odds, but half of its £60 comes as spread bets, whose losses can exceed your deposit, so the like-for-like comparison is really £30 of fixed-odds free bets for £10. bet365 pays 300% of a qualifying deposit in Bet Credits, so a £5 deposit earns £15, released by £5 of bets at 1/5 or bigger; Bet Credits last seven days. Virgin Bet and LiveScore Bet each give £30 for £10 at 1.5, split between £20 of sportsbook free bets and £10 for Bet Builders, with 14 days for the qualifying bet to settle.

If a larger headline appeals more than a low entry price, our breakdown of bet £10 get £50 offers ranks Betfred, BetSuna, SBK, Betway and William Hill by what they return.

Bet £5 get £30 terms: payment methods, each-way bets and expiry

Most failed claims come down to payment. Both bookmakers exclude deposits by PayPal, Neteller, Paysafe, Skrill, any prepayment card and certain debit cards, so a standard debit card in your own name is the safe choice. Timing is the next pitfall: the qualifying bet must be placed within 14 days of registration, and the free bets last seven days from crediting, so it pays to know when you will use them before you sign up.

Each-way bets work, but only the win part counts towards the £5, so a £5 each-way bet (£10 in total) qualifies through its win half while a £2.50 each-way bet does not. Cashing out the qualifying bet, at either bookmaker, loses the offer. And any winnings from the free bets are subject to each site’s general maximum payout rules.

The UK free bets comparison covers every sign-up offer we track, from £5 qualifiers to exchange commission deals. A fiver is a small sum, but the same rules apply as for any bet, and sign-up offers are for over-18s only.
