Spreadex Sign Up Offer: Bet £10 Get £60 in Free Bets | Review

Spreadex mixes fixed odds and spread betting, and its welcome offer gives you free bets in both. We explain how it works and how the bookmaker performs.

Spreadex’s sign-up offer is advertised as Bet £10 Get £60. Place a £10 fixed odds or each-way bet at odds of 1/2 or bigger, and you receive three £10 free fixed odds bets. You also get a set of free spread bets on football and racing. No promo code is needed, and it is open to new UK customers aged 18 or over.

It is the only welcome offer we review that introduces you to spread betting. That comes with a warning worth reading first: spread betting losses can exceed your deposit.

Spreadex welcome offer

Place a £10 fixed odds single, or a £10 each-way bet, at minimum odds of 1/2. Spreadex then gives you:

  • 3 x £10 free fixed odds bets
  • 3 x £5 Total Goals football spread bets
  • 3 x £5 Winning Favourites spread bets
  • a £1 racing Race Index spread bet

The fixed odds free bets work like those at any bookmaker. The spread bets are different: you buy or sell against a range Spreadex sets, and your return grows or shrinks with every point the result moves. That is why the terms open with the reminder that spread betting losses can exceed your deposit.

Spread bets in brief

Take Total Goals. Spreadex quotes a range for the number of goals across a set of matches. If you “buy” at £5 a point and the total finishes above the top of the range, you win £5 for every goal above it. Finish below and you lose £5 for every goal under. Winning Favourites and Race Index are spread markets built on the same buy-or-sell principle. Spreadex’s help pages explain how points are scored on each.

Fixed odds punters do not need to touch spread betting at all. The three £10 free fixed odds bets stand on their own. If you try the spread bets, start with the free ones and make sure you understand how much each point is worth before staking your own money.

Who runs Spreadex: licence and regulation

Spreadex is a rare double-regulated bookmaker. For fixed odds betting, Spreadex Limited is licensed by the Gambling Commission under account number 8835. The public register shows its remote real-event betting licence active since 1 January 2009. Its spread betting is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, which treats spread bets as complex financial instruments.

Spreadex markets: fixed odds and spreads

Spreadex’s fixed odds sportsbook lists thousands of markets on global sport, in fractional or decimal format. Accumulators and multiples take up to eight selections, horse racing supports each-way betting, and Cash Out comes in three forms: one-click, partial and automatic.

The distinctive part is that fixed odds and spread betting sit in one account. The Bet Builder can combine fixed odds and spread markets in a single bet, something you will not find at a fixed-odds-only bookmaker. Football accas of three or more selections get boosts, and enhanced odds appear regularly on big matches.

Racing fans can back each-way and follow selected races on live streams. Spreadex does not advertise Best Odds Guaranteed, so if that matters to you, compare it in our horse racing betting sites guide. Our each-way calculator shows how both halves of an each-way bet pay.

The Spreadex app

The Spreadex Sports Betting App UK, published by Spreadex Ltd, holds a 4.7-star rating from around 1,400 ratings on the UK App Store. It runs on iOS 13 or later, so it supports older iPhones than any other app we review. It streams selected horse racing, greyhounds, tennis, NFL and football, and offers the same three cash-out options as the website.

Spreadex payments and withdrawal times

Spreadex keeps to cards and bank-based payments. Deposits can be made by UK debit card, bank transfer, cheque, Direct Debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Pay by Bank, with a £5 minimum. PayPal, Neteller and other e-wallets are not accepted.

SpreadEx significant terms: SpreadEX £60 free bets bonus offer terms: Spread betting losses can exceed deposit. Withdrawal method Time
Debit card Within 2 hours of approval (2 to 5 days with some issuers)
Pay by Bank Fastest option, if you deposited this way
Bank transfer Within 2 working days
CHAPS same-day transfer Same day, £25 fee
Cheque On request

The minimum withdrawal is £5 of cleared funds, and card and Apple Pay or Google Pay withdrawals are capped at £25,000 at a time. Card withdrawals must go back to the card you deposited with. Some card issuers do not accept the fast payment route, in which case the money takes two to five days to arrive.

Safer gambling at Spreadex

Spreadex has a dedicated Safer Gambling section and its site footer links to GAMSTOP, GamCare, Gambling Therapy and GambleAware.org from every page. Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are available, as required of every Gambling Commission licensee.

Because spread bets can lose more than your stake, set limits before you try them, and keep fixed odds and spread betting budgets separate.

Spreadex customer support

Spreadex offers telephone support alongside email and live chat. Its Sports Desk is on 08000 526 575, and general enquiries go to +44 (0)1727 895 000. You can also email info@spreadex.com or use live chat on the website. For anyone who would rather talk through a withdrawal or a spread bet settlement with a person, that is a genuine advantage.

Who Spreadex suits best

Spreadex suits experienced punters who want fixed odds and spread betting under one roof. It also suits racing and football fans who value phone support and quick card withdrawals. Its app also runs on older iPhones that newer bookmaker apps no longer support.

It is a weaker fit for beginners drawn in by the headline number. Part of the offer’s value sits in spread bets, where losses can exceed your stake. Anyone who relies on PayPal or another e-wallet will need to use a debit card or bank payment instead.

Our Spreadex verdict

Spreadex is a specialist with a broad sportsbook attached. The welcome offer is generous and easy to qualify for at 1/2, but part of its value sits in spread bets that carry more risk than standard free bets.

SpreadEx significant terms: SpreadEX £60 free bets bonus offer terms: Spread betting losses can exceed deposit. Promo code is optional. Full terms apply. 18+ GambleAware.org

For fixed odds punters who want phone support and fast card withdrawals, it is a credible choice. If you want a simpler, app-first bookmaker, read our SBK review, see the full UK betting sites ranking, or return to our UK hub.
